2. Data Collection

Balbush does not request or store personally identifiable information (such as name, email, etc.) from its users. The only data processed is automatically or technically generated while browsing the site:

IP Address and usage data, collected by Google Analytics 4 (only if the user accepts analytical cookies).
IP Address, transferred to Google (Google Fonts) and JSDelivr (marked.js CDN) when loading site resources. These transfers are technically necessary for the site to function correctly.
Application Preferences (instrument, scale, language, etc.), stored locally in the user's browser via localStorage. This data does not leave the user's device.

If the user provides a Google Gemini API key to use the lick generator, said key is stored in the browser's localStorage. The site does not access it from the server nor transmits it to third parties, except to the Gemini API itself to process requests.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis

Google Analytics: Traffic and user behavior measurement. Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). Only activated if the user accepts via the cookie banner.
Google Fonts and JSDelivr: Loading of fonts and rendering libraries. Legal basis: Legitimate interest in the correct functioning of the site (Art. 6.1.f GDPR). These transfers are inherent to the site's architecture.
Gemini API: Generation of musical lessons via AI. Legal basis: Performance of a user request (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Only activated when the user clicks "Generate".

4. Recipients and International Transfers

Usage data may be transferred to:

Google LLC (USA) — as the data processor for Google Analytics and Google Fonts. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision, July 2023).
JSDelivr / Prospect One — static content distribution CDN. Operates under the same adequacy framework for transfers to the USA.

No data is disclosed to any other third parties.

5. Retention Period

Google Analytics: Usage data is retained for 14 months (default GA4 configuration). It can be deleted by using the "Google Analytics Opt-out" extension.
localStorage: Data remains on the user's device until manually cleared (clearing browser cache/data).

6. User Rights

Under the GDPR, users have the right to:

Access: know what data is being processed.
Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
Erasure: request data deletion ("right to be forgotten").
Restriction: request processing restriction.
Portability: receive data in a structured format.
Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Withdrawal of consent: refuse or withdraw consent for analytical cookies at any time using the button below.

7. Claims

If you believe the processing of your data does not comply with data protection regulations, please contact the owner directly at contact@balbush.net to resolve the issue. Additionally:

European Union Residents: You have the right to file a complaint with your local Supervisory Authority (Data Protection Agency) in your country of residence.
Residents of Chile: You may refer to the relevant authorities under Law No. 19.628 on the Protection of Private Life.
Other Regions: Users may contact their local regulatory bodies according to their national laws.

8. Cookies

Balbush only uses Google Analytics 4 analytical cookies, subject to prior user consent.

The site's own code does not generate cookies. User preferences are stored in localStorage, which is not a cookie and is not subject to consent under the ePrivacy Directive when its use is technically necessary.
